Some old friends and I are doing a Himalaya bike ride this July 2023.

It’s not an organised TOUR, But, rather a rambling… there are some side roads and remote Gompas that are calling out to us, and as we ride we will decide when and where to stop overnight, and for how long.

Some ideas that we have are to explore both the Spiti valley and also the Lahaul valley toward Udaipur.

The basic route is such that we can ride for 2 weeks, or continue for 3 to 4 weeks before returning to Manali.

As of this writing we have 3 bikes going, with another 2 bikes possibly joining us. We will pay our own expenses as we go along.

In early July, Himalaya, Shunyo and I, and hopefully Diego, will leave Manali and head over the Jalori pass into the Kinnaur valley.

The no plan is to be open to adjusting the amount of time between bike riding, sitting in Gompas and just watching the mountains and being open to change according to how we are feeling. (Haha I know it sounds like a new age ’group process’, it’s not though.)

I just feel to put it out and see what happens. It’s really about being with friends in the amazing Himalayas.
