Royal Enfield

All the bikes that we will be riding are made by Royal Enfield in India.

In 1955, Enfield Cycle Company partnered with Madras Motors in India in forming Enfield of India, based in Chennai, and started assembling the 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle in Madras.

Enfield of India continued producing the ‘Bullet’, and began branding its motorcycles ‘Royal Enfield’ in 1999 and now produce motorcycles under the Royal Enfield name.
The models produced and marketed in India include Cafe Racers, Cruisers, Retros and Adventure Tourers.

A Short Enfield History

1892
The first ‘Enfield’ cycles were built in Enfield Middlesex England With the legendary trade mark – “Built Like A Gun” . At that time the Royal Small Arms factory in Enfield, Middlesex was supplying precision rifle parts for the making of Enfield rifles.

1901
The first enfield motor bicycle manufactured 1931 The JS Model, the fore runner of the popular Bullet range of motorcycles

1949
Bullet Comes to India Two young business men, Mr. Sundaram and Shankar, of the Madras Motor company started importing the Bullet motorcyles into the southern port city Madras, India.

1951
Enfield India Limited Incorporated

1970
Royal Enfield, UK closes operation.
